That first night I started to inquire about different tours, and get prices. I knew that I wanted to see the geisers and to swim/float in a salt lake. I ended up doing much more.
On the Sunday I went to the Valley of the Moon, the Valley of Mars (which is often called the Valley of the Dead -- the words are similar in Spanish and some French guy made a mistake a long time ago and now both names are used)
and one other Valley. These rocks in one of the Valleys are made of salt and expand and contract witht he heat of the day and night, so if you are quiet you can here them cra
We saw the sunset in the Valley of the Moon and it was fantastic, my pictures do not do it justice. The setting sun makes the valley reflect red and pink and blue it is fantastic.
On Monday I woke up at 3:30 am to go to the geiser field, which is at 4400meters above sealevel and active only in the morning when it is cold and the contracted ground pushes down on the hot water.
It was excellent -- especially the hotspring, since I was really cold after looking at the geisers.
On the drive back from the hotsprings we saw llamas -- the first ones I have seen.
